The Alentejo wine Cem Reis is produced at Herdade da Maroteira and has a concentrated dark violet color. Exuberant nose, warm notes of black fruits with menthol notes, ending with notes of toasted almonds from the barrel. In the mouth the attack is full, round, hot and full of aromas. Firm structure with good persistence.
Herdade da Maroteira has been promoting its productive potential through the development of activities complementary to forestry, having planted, in 2003, 10ha of vineyards in an open valley area. The choice of grape varieties fell on Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz, Touriga Nacional and Syrah.
Much of the wine production is sold; only a small selection – superior quality grapes – is used for the production of wine at Herdade da Maroteira.
