The LOTE 5 Grande Reserva red wine is produced by Quinta das Chaquedas in Vale Rio Torto, Cima-Corgo in the Douro region. This wine is deep and bright ruby red. It has an aromatic complexity with a strong presence of black and red fruit surrounded by coffee vapor, violet flowers, black pepper and balsamic notes of pine bark, cedar and eucalyptus. The wine is produced by a pure and very old Field Blend of dozens of traditional Douro grape varieties, from a historic vineyard over 100 years old. Aging in 300 liter French oak barrels for 6 to 9 months.
